Short bio

I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering , Technical University of Crete and a member of the Software Technology and Network Applications Lab (SoftNet). Prior to that, I was a post-doc researcher at the same lab. I obtained my PhD from the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus under the supervision of Professor Yannis Theodoridis. I also hold a BSc from the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus and a MSc in Information Systems from the Department of Informatics, Athens University of Economics and Business.

Research interests

Currently, my research interests are in the broad area of software technologies, architectures, systems and algorithms for Big Data Management including:

  • Federated Machine Learning
  • Cloud to Edge Big Data Management
  • Synopses for Massive Data/Approximate Query Processing
