Short bio

I am an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Technical University of Crete, and a member of the Software Technology and Network Applications Lab (SoftNet). Prior to that, I was an Assistant Professor at the same School from 2022 to 2026. I obtained my PhD from the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus under the supervision of Professor Yannis Theodoridis . I also hold a BSc from the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus and an MSc in Information Systems from the Department of Informatics, Athens University of Economics and Business .

Research interests

Currently, my research interests are in the broad area of software technologies, architectures, systems and algorithms for Big Data Management including:

  • Federated Machine Learning
  • Cloud to Edge Big Data Management
  • Synopses for Massive Data/Approximate Query Processing
